Over the next 8 weeks we are collecting a whole host of items to ship to our Children's Villages in Kenya and Uganda. Our intention is to fill a 40ft shipping container with a variety of goods that will help the lives of the hundreds of children we are helping there. The container itself will be turned into a library once it reaches it destination in Kenya. 
 
This is something that everyone can help with, we all have things that are no longer use, clogging up room in our cupboards so now is the time to have a clear out and pass it on to children who have virtually nothing. Please read below to see a list of items we are searching for. We also ask that all items donated are in good working order, space is precious and we want to send useful things!
 
Our delivery points are scattered around Victoria (Castlemaine, Eltham and some more central Melbourne locations) We can occasionally arrange a pick up but we really prefer drop offs. For info please contact Steve at orphfund@gmail.com or Pete at petefish@exemail.com.au
 
OrphFund Working Bee - Volunteers Needed!
We will be hosting a working bee weekend over Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of September 2011 near Castlemaine. If you can attend and lend a hand over any of these dates please email Steve at orphfund@gmail.com  Over the weekend we will be packing and boxing up donations ready to send. This is also a great chance to collect up and deliver a bundle to us.

  • Shipping company to help with costs
  • Laptop/Desktop computers (laptops preferred) To be used in computer training centre
  • Digital Cameras (for our care workers to send us updates of the children)
  • Mobile phones and chargers (to be used by staff and to run a phone charging business)
  • Sewing machines
  • Table Tennis table
  • Pool Table
  • Sports equipment - Balls, team kits, basketball ring, soccer goal posts, tennis rackets.
  • Childrens clothing (strictly ages 5 to Small Adult)
  • Childrens shoes (over 5's to Adult)
  • Shelving units (metal or wood - no veneer)
  • Chest of drawers
  • Tables (Old school tables, any wooden top tables with metal base or stacking/folding tables)
  • Stationary
  • School bags
  • Books - Educational, childrens story books.
  • Children's DVD's and videos
  • Wood working tools, electric powered are fine.
  • Garden equipment and tools
  • Cement mixer
  • Wheelbarrows
  • Printers with ink
  • Chairs (stacking or folding)
  • Suitcases
  • Cardboard boxes for packing
  • Parcel/Cellotape rolls for packing
  • Musical instruments all kinds (electric fine)
