Heartspring, Kenya.

Right now we are fortunate enough to have 3 OrphFund volunteers spending their days at our Heartspring Children's Village in western Kenya.
Alison, Christina and Sheila have been non stop action since arriving, working on a number of items to help improve facilities there.
So far painting, bed repairs and getting rid of bed bugs have been ticked off their list.
Great work ladies!!!

Dearest Quniter. Our hearts hang so heavy today as we say goodbye. Thoughts and sympathies go out to all of your friends and new family you made at our Heartspring Childrens Village. You were so loved by all. So many tears have fallen.
Quinter passed suddenly in Homa Bay hospital from complications with Sickle Cell Anemia. She was just 16.

Kasese's New roof!

A few months ago a terrible storm came through and blew the roof off at our Kasese Children's Village. It was all very dramatic and we were blessed that no one was hurt by flying sheets of metal!!!

With your amazing support, we replaced the roof and have fixed all the damage. Our girls have moved back in and everyone is happy again.

A great big THANK YOU to those who donated from everyone at OrphFund and our kids! We really can't do what we do without the support of our friends! ❤

Upcoming Orphfund project, Heartspring Kenya.

In September, one of our long-time volunteers, Alison Dillon, together with a small team, will visit Orphfund's Heartspring Children's Village in Kenya. Alison has previously volunteered at Heartspring and also Orphfund’s Sierra Leone Projects.

The team plan to:

-Repair damaged beds and provide new mattresses
-Repair fence damage for children's safety
-Review sustainability food programs
-Update the children's profiles for sponsors
-Deliver sponsor letters
-Develop a major capital project plan for a new kitchen and eating area
-Run vocational and life education sessions

The team is currently fundraising for the trip so to provide the budget for the mattresses and bed repairs as well as the fence damage and work towards a new kitchen and eating area.

😍So happy with these finds, my little succulents and the village loaf are absolutely divine🌞 I was so excited to find this art, which supports local African communities 100%❤️ the organisations both seem incredible and I absolutely cannot wait to learn more about them, Kenya is a place close to my heart and I'm feeling very sentimental for my time there after today's trip😊 organisations which support grass roots projects in communities, while creating sustainable sources of income are so so important and I'll always support them even if I am a broke uni student 😂
