experience an orphfund project first hand
If you have ever dreamed of volunteering overseas look no further! Here at OrphFund we offer life changing unique experiences that will live with you forever. We like to think we do things a little differently here, so do not confuse this with 'Voluntouring' (It's not about just ticking something off the bucket list!) We send volunteers over to support us and our local partners make real change in the lives of real children in need. It's hands on and it really makes a difference!
Listed below are 2 ways in which you can get involved.
Typically we run 1 or 2 projects a year in one of our beneficiary countries. Projects run from anything from 3-6 weeks and see a group of like-minded people with various skills come together to work together on a variety of activities. All volunteers raise funds before they go, 100% of which is then spent on what we have outlined to achieve within that project. They pay for their own flights and need spending money to cover the small costs of living and accommodation.
We've placed over 100 volunteer to date who have helped local workers to build schools and residential homes, painted walls, constructed furniture, planted trees, run sewing workshops, established gardens, built chicken runs and so on. In addition our teams always assist with helping profile the children, organise health care checks and arrange events such as sports days and day trips. Everyday is action packed, making for a truly rewarding experience!

create your own project
If dates do not suit we are also able to run a Create Your Own Project where you and a group of friends can go to one of our projects for a period of time and date that suits you. Here we will assess our latest needs and create a project schedule for you to work towards. You'll be hands on, there will be plenty to do and you'll help progress one of our projects with your participation.
If you have a little more time on your hands and want to really get your teeth stuck into our work then a project placement may just be for you. Placements run for a minimum of 2 months where you'll work alongside our on ground local management teams offering your skills to help take our programs to new levels. Our team in Australia offer guidance and support but you'll be assisting our local team to implement new ideas and solutions to daily life problems within our centres. Project placements volunteers are expected to raise funds pre project but can apply to be helped with a local wage, food and board for their time working at the centres.
